Qualifications Required
GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.

- Word, Excel, Access – statistics, graphs, data analysis

The Role
As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced laboratory professionals to support the day‑to‑day operation of the laboratory. You will learn how to safely prepare samples, carry out routine testing, maintain equipment, and accurately record results, all while working towards your Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification.
This role is ideal for someone with an interest in science, testing, or laboratory work who is keen to learn and develop technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation, handling, and processing of samples
Carry out routine laboratory tests under supervision
Accurately record test results and laboratory data
Support the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory equipment
Follow laboratory procedures, health & safety regulations, and quality standards
Assist with stock control and laboratory organisation
Work collaboratively with laboratory technicians and senior staff
Develop practical and theoretical knowledge alongside apprenticeship training
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
A genuine interest in laboratory work, science, or testing
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to learn and follow procedures
Strong organisational skills
A professional and reliable attitude
Basic IT skills (e.g. data entry, record keeping)
Desirable:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Maths
Any previous experience in a laboratory or scientific environment
Interest in quality, compliance, or analytical testing

You will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, where you will receive:
